Weather Forecast will be a mess if 5G is permitted

A committee that was formed before the US House said that the new next-gen 5G mobile technology could be proved to hurt weather forecasting as per reports suggested by the experts in the United States.

Neil Jacobs is one of the Secretary who is acting under a Commerce for Oceans and Atmosphere at NOAA. And as Neil Jacobs has asserted, if the 5G wireless phones intervene, the accuracy of the weather forecast will reduce by 30 per cent. Further, Jacob added that the weather forecast would return to the 1980s level.

An Aerospace Industries Association reported that the consumers and government agencies depend on weather information, and it will be necessary for preparedness of disasters as well as recovery. The AIA has also notified that Interference-free radio frequency spectrum can give accurate results by making these applications possible.

However, today’s spectrum can directly impact the future of the weather forecast. The Federal Communication Commission (FCC) had recorded that the risk of weather forecast came into the picture when the FCC had auctioned off the 24 GHz spectrum.

Significant Security and Safety Implication:

The two Democratic senators, Ron Wyden of Oregon and Maria Cantwell of Washington wrote a letter to the FCC Chairman Ajit Pai asking him to block companies that operate in the 24 GHz band. Despite the American Meteorological Society, Wyden and Cantwell pointed out objections; the FCC began auctioning the 24GHz spectrum.

The wireless industry has raised its voice against the delay of the 24GHz spectrum. Meredith Attwell Baker, CEO of the CTIA have cited that the FCC had started looking at the 24GHz band five years ago. The commission had conducted an exhaustive review as well as consulted all the agencies to check on the interest accurately.

CTIA senior Vice President Nick Ludlum asserted that changing the relevance of 5G might undermine trump strategy.

Despite the issues raised by the military and scientific community, the implementation of 5G will be slowed down. The Principal analyst at Pund-IT Charles King also mentioned that the FCC should suspend the auctioning until the whole is solved.

On the other hand, Bill Menezes, a senior principal at Gartner, had notified that issues arising from spectrum relocation are nothing new. He also justified that problems can go beyond weather forecasting.
